The IAEP is deeply saddened to announce the death of member and EMT Marc Cohen, who passed away unexpectedly this March.

Cohen was a member of IAEP Local 684 Stamford EMS (SEMS). He is remembered for his good humor, his dedication to the SEMS Detail Unit and Pickleball Club, and his love for EMS, bowling, cars and his son, Jonathan.

“Being an EMT was more than just a job for Marc; it was his calling, as it is for so many of us. Having worked for multiple agencies and touched countless lives, his presence will be missed by both providers and patients,” said IAEP National Representative Pete Zera.

Our thoughts remain with those who knew and loved Cohen-- including his friends, family, and coworkers-- during this incredibly difficult time.

We offer strength and solidarity to our grieving first responder community. A Peer Support team has been established by SEMS as well as AMR respectively, and we encourage those who need additional support to seek out one of the following resources:

o EAP: 1.866.248.4094 or liveandworkwell.com, Access Code = oneteam

o Brower Crisis Line: Call 1.833.479.7337
